The annual scholarship presentation for high achivers of the Ordinary Level examination was held for the 15th consecutive year on the 19th of May 2019. The scholarship presentation was organized by the Kalutara Bodhi Trust fund. In the year 2004 the first scholarship presentation was held with just 35 students, and this year 351 students who have passed the Ordinary Level Examination with excellence were presented with scholarships. These selected students will be given financial scholarships every month up to university education. This year’s event took place at the Kalutara Bodhi premises and the mahanayaka thero of the Amarapura Nikaya, Ven.Dr. Waskaduwe Mahindawansha mahanayaka thero, National Sinhala Literature Award winner, Ven. Batuewangala Rahula thero, Chairman of the Kalutara Bodhi Trust – Ajith de zoysa, Deshabandu Mr. Indradasa Hettiarachchi, Mr. Ashan de Zoysa and a large number of people participated at the event.
