42nd Memorial of the founder of KBT
The 42nd memorial of Sir Cyril de Zoysa who was the founder of KalutaraBodhi Trust was held on the 1st of January 2020 at the Kalutara Bodhi premises. A special Pirith chanting ceremony was held to mark the event.

The annual scholarship presentation for high achivers of the Ordinary Level examination was held for the 15th consecutive year on the 19th of May 2019. The scholarship presentation was organized by the Kalutara Bodhi Trust fund.

40 Death Commoration of Sir Cyril de Zoysa, Founder of the Kalutara Bodhi Trust.
The above ceremonies were held in the Kalutara Bodhi Trust premises on 1st and 2nd of January 2018, as in the previous years. The ceremonies commenced on 1st of January evening with chanting of pirith the whole night, followed by “Kiripidu Dana” early in the morning following day by paying homage to the Sacred Bodhi Tree and the Unique Dagaba. After the Pirith Ceremony, Heel Dana and valuable pirikara were offered to those 25 monks, who took part in the pirith chanting in order to pass on merit to the founder, Sir Cyril de Zoysa.
Education of SamaneraBhikkhus
The Kalutara Bodhi Trust takes an interest in educating the samanerabhikkhus (novicesmonks) in order to carry on the mantle of uplifting and fostering of Buddhism in Sri Lanka and abroad in future. In this regard, the Bodhi Trust provides text books and other educational requisites needed by the samanera bhikshus in the Kalutara district annually, as recommended by principals of the pirivenas, since the year 2000.
Award of Scholarships – 2017
Assistance to the Flood Victims
Kalutara District is considered to be affected by floods every year. Kalutara Bodhi Trust had always been in the fore front, in giving assistance, whenever floods occur in the District. During the month of December 2017, floods have devastated same areas of the district and Mr. Ajita de Zoysa Chairman Kalutara Bodhi Trust took initiative steps to help those victims in the area. By contacting the Ratnam Foundation of the United Kingdom he was able to get a donation of Rs. 1.0 million and another half a million was received from the National Savings Bank.
121st Birth day of Sir Cyril de Zoysa Founder of the Kalutara Bodhi Trust.
Kalutara Bodhi Trust pay tribute to Sir Cyril de Zoysa Founder of the Trust, every year by way of garlanding the statue of Sir Cyril de Zoysa and offering Dana to nearly 75 monks to bestow merit on him. In the same way, in the year 2018 as well, the statue of Sir Cyril de Zoysa was garlanded at a well attended, but simple ceremony where his contribution to the upliftment of Buddhism was emphasized by the speakers. Later on midday meal was offered to the 75 monks invited whom were represented all the chapters of the maha Sangha. Ceremonies started early in the morning, at 6.00 a.m. on the 26th October 2017 by offering “Kiripidu Dana”

To mark the Vesak Festival 2017, the entire Kalutara stupa and the entire premises was beautifully lit up.
President's visit to Kalutara Bodhi Premises
H.E. the President completed one year of ascending of the Presidency as at 8th January 2016 and therefore he had thought of attending to religious activities at the Kalutara Sacred Bodhi premises on the 8th January 2016 at 7.30 a.m. As a mark of visit to the sacred Bodhi, arraingements were also made to hand over the Lease agreement document signed by the H.E. the President himself on that day.
